Background

What is the purpose of the Housing List confirmation / Registration Campaign?

It is a campaign that aims to determine the number of people in need of government assisted housing, and gather information on the type of houses preferred by beneficiaries.

The City of Cape Town calls on all communities to assist in tackling the City's housing needs by participating in the confirmation / registration campaign.

So, if you are one of the many people without proper housing, you are requested to supply your personal details to the Housing Demand Database.

This information is required so that the City is able to plan, allocate and assist with access to housing in a fair, transparent and credible manner.

To qualify to participate you must meet the following criteria:

If you meet all of the relevant criteria mentioned above, go to your nearest centre to confirm your details if you have applied before, or register your details if you are a first time applicant.

Be aware that you are allowed one application only, so make sure you register your details in your preferred area of residence.
